Pamphilon first met Ricky in 1998, when he did a feature on him for ESPN about coming back for a senior season at Texas. Three months later the relationship was solidified when Sean produced his Heisman Trophy feature for ESPN as well. In 2001, Sean broke the story of Ricky’s social anxiety disorder in a feature for Fox Sports Net National Sports Report. He went on to spend more then six years shooting Ricky for what became his film Run Ricky Run. Sean’s many years spent with Ricky actually set up the foundation for this film. Through Ricky, Sean first met and interviewed Kyle Turley in 2004 and it was Ricky who encouraged Sean to contact Sean Morey regarding the issue of concussions in football.
