Six months after we began shooting this film Bob asked Roger Goodell at half-time on Sunday Night Football the very question Sean had been seeking out himself, “what would you tell the parents of a 12-year old boy considering letting their son play football?” A year later Costas was still on topic. At the Super Bowl in Indianapolis Sean attended the first episode of Costas Live which ostensibly was a “State of the Union” on the NFL. A main theme throughout the show was health and safety and the highly publicized concussion crisis. Sean was first introduced to Bob in 2001 by his truth-telling bagwan Phil Mushnick of the New York Post. Bob was Sean’s journalistic hero growing up and has become an invaluable sounding board. He was interviewed twice for this film.
